PIONEER KITCHENWARE LIMITED
On July 11, 1959 Pioneer Kitchenware Limited was established as Ghana Aluminium Factory Limited by a Swiss businessman called Paul Gottfried Schwegler. The company which was originally a private company later changed its name to Pioneer Aluminium Factory. Pioneer Kitchenware Limited is a market leader in the production of aluminium household items and the firm is the brand bearer of Torch Standard, Torch Elegance and Torch Prestige in Ghana and beyond. The company produces cookware sets, pans, buckets, casseroles under the aforementioned brands.
Prior to the company’s Initial Public Offer, the Government of Ghana in 1995 sold its 40% stake in the then PAF. Pioneer Kitchenware Limited was listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange on August 25, 1995. In August of 2006, and for the second time the firm’s name was changed to Pioneer Kitchenware Limited and that has been the name of the company till date.
On the Ghana Stock Exchange PKL trades in ordinary shares of no par value. It has an authorized share of 100.000.000 and issued shares of 33.34 Million.
